Kittitas County Fair - Marketing Campaign

Social Media | Brand Design | Public Relations

Manastash Media worked with the Kittitas County Fair to launch its first professional marketing campaign to develop brand awareness, grow its online presence, and increase ticket sales for the 2024 season. This was the first time ever that the fair established themselves as an individual brand through professional marketing. Manastash Media’s efforts for the Kittitas County Fair delivered remarkable results! The marketing campaign earned awards from the Washington State Fairs Association, including Best Marketing Campaign, and first place for the official poster.

The Story

The Kittitas County Fair is a beloved tradition that has brought the community together every Labor Day Weekend since 1885. Rooted in agricultural pride and cultural heritage, the fair highlights the achievements of local youth through 4-H, FFA, and Grange projects while celebrating the close-knit community of Kittitas County.

The Kittitas County Fair's social media reach skyrocketed, with Facebook achieving an organic reach of 111.7k (+172.6% YOY) and an Instagram reach of 8.3k

The Kittitas County Fair wanted to work with Manatash Media and use our knowledge to address its lack of brand awareness as its own entity. By partnering with Manastash Media, we worked together to increase brand awareness of the Fair for audiences from near and far. Manastash Media supported the Kittitas County Fair with comprehensive brand design, social media, online ads, and public relations strategies.

We designed the vintage americana-inspired 2024 Fair poster, ensuring the brand message and identity stood out. The Fair earned top recognition from the Washington State Fairs Association, winning the 2024 Best Marketing Campaign award and securing first place in the Informational Poster Contest.

We managed engaging organic content on Instagram and Facebook, including stories, posts, and a successful ticket giveaway campaign. The Kittitas County Fair's social media reach skyrocketed, with Facebook achieving an organic reach of 111.7k (+172.6% YOY) and an Instagram reach of 8.3k, a huge number considering that they did not have Instagram at all before this season.

We created multiple paid social ads, including a Facebook event that boosted attendance, generating over 3,200 event responses—a 248% increase from the prior year—and driving 194,608 impressions for the Facebook event.

We ran two additional social ads to drive traffic to the website and encourage ticket purchases, and we were able to track who made a purchase after seeing the online ads. Social media ads combined with our PR efforts, which included a podcast interview with the fair board and a spotlight article on ExploreWA, led to a surge in website traffic, with 44,460 users—a 48% year-over-year increase!

It has truly been an honor for Manastash Media to support the Kittitas County Fair in its mission to preserve and promote a cherished tradition that spans over a century. By helping to elevate the Fair’s brand and expand its reach, we have played a part in amplifying the vibrant community spirit that has made the event so special for generations. Through our marketing efforts, we’ve not only increased awareness and ticket sales but also helped shine a light on the importance of agricultural education, local pride, and the next generation of leaders in 4-H, FFA, and Grange projects.

"We generated over 3,200 event responses—a 248% increase from the prior year—and drove 194,608 impressions for the Facebook event."

The success of the 2024 campaign, marked by record-breaking numbers and recognition from the Washington State Fairs Association, is a testament to the power of collaboration and strategic marketing. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth and success of the Kittitas County Fair and to help ensure that this beloved tradition receives the attention and support it truly deserves.
Here's to many more years of celebration, community, and fair fun!
